Hello Everybody,
My Merc. w201 2.5 Diesel from 1986 need a complete new clutch set.
The Vin nr. is: WDB2011261 A304415 (engine OM602.911)
When I search for the complete kit at different suppliers, they offer me a big variety of kit but all these state "from vin nr.A521683.
This is the later version from the model upgrade (side panels etc.)
If you look at the vin nr. then it would seem my car would be different in the clutch department from the later models.
The question is: Is this really so? I don't want to order a kit only to find it is different and does not fit my vehicle. Does anybody know if the 1986 D 2.5 actually has the same specs as the say 1989 model?

P.S. So sorry, I'm a real bonehead!! Found some shops vin nr. TO A521683..... but most say FROM..! Oh well, problem solved, pardon me.....

Your 86 has a single mass flywheel the 89 has a dual mass flywheel and they are not compatible you need a single mass flywheel clutch kit and when you buy it make sure it’s the same size clutch kit as yours
