M&S vs Winter tires

well, thought I would share my experience. I put brand new M&S's on my 190e just a couple of months ago. I also have ancient (over 10 years) pirelli snows on my 300e. Today the weather in southern ontario was miserable with lots of snow/ice/slush on the ground. the 190e had no control whatever, none, zilch.... I had to go down a small hill by bumping up against the curb. Parked it finally and pulled out the 300e with the ancient half worn snow tires..... night and day! No problems whatever. Therefore if you are using M&S's and thought "good enough" - as I did - NOT SO. I'm going out to buy snowtires asap .... maybe a better name should be 'ice' tires since the
M&S are indeed decent enough in deeper snow.

cheers
