1985 300CD For Sale

It's time to let Gladys go to a new home. She's a California model 1985 Turbo Diesel.

She's been sitting in my driveway, undriven since late 2013. I stopped driving when I noticed an external head gasket leak. One of the rear axles weeps as well. There are some spots of rust, but nothing that can't be properly repaired.

Water can get into the passenger side window, so I have the mats out and drain plug pulled. That way nothing sits in the car. I check on it regularly and make sure I dry anything before it sits too long.

This car is worth taking the time to put it back on the road. There are posts and photos on this site of different things I've done and various experiences I've had.

So anyway, I'm selling her and hope she goes to someone that will take proper care. I'll be including any bits I have like a set of bundts, extra headlight doors, cat/trap bypass pipe, etc.

The dash is crack free, interior is 7/10 and I had planned to recolor the seats to hide the fading.

I'm asking $3000 or best offer. You are welcome to come take a look any time. I work from home and can be VERY flexible. It will need to be towed home as fluids should all be replaced before doing anything like trying to start it.

PM me with any interest and I can answer any questions here too. I'm also willing to take and post shots of specific areas upon request.

Thanks!

This is a great buy for someone who is looking for a nice C123 project car. I would buy it myself if I had the space and the time.

Not to worry. I have a plan in the works to have another Benz very soon.

I want to eventually be back in a w123 wagon myself, but we're looking for a daily driver for Raquel. E55 AMG, C55 AMG, E550, E500 4 matic, or E350 4 matic.

Thanks. Time is my issue.

I had planned to pull the engine and trans so I could clean them up and pull the head from the engine. Then I could get the valves redone and replace the head gasket. Maybe a set of new injectors and plugs. I wanted to replace the leaking rear axle and expected that it would need something done to the brakes after sitting.

While the engine and trans were out I planned to address any rust with a welder and donor patches. Then an inexpensive respray. The interior is in great condition but I planned to redye with SEMA colorkote.

At this point I have too many other commitments to be able to do any of that work. I'd hate to let it sit.

It may need some other things I'm not thinking of, but I can try to answer any specific questions as best as I can and I can try to take pictures of specific areas.

Bumping in hopes that the CD can find a new home before snow. I'll cover it, but a garage would be better.

I'm willing to take $1250 so I can stop paying registration and insurance.

With less than $2k this could be a daily driver again.

Bump.

Make me an offer. It's under a car cover until it goes to a new home.
