I need to replace the a/c pods on my hvac. I already have the speedometer cluster out for another issue so this is probably a good time to do this.

I read that some of the pods needed are no longer available, so you have to buy a wrong one, take the insides out, and put it into the old pod housing. Is that correct?

Also what brands should I get or avoid. Not a job that I want to do twice.

There is only MB parts for this, no other brands I am aware of. Many of them are not available anymore.
