If you can send pictures of the part from different angle that might help.

I will try and measure the part that I think it might be tomorrow.

It seems unlikely to me that it is that part, however, as it is unlikely to fall out.

I don't understand this.

I think we need to make a deal.

Thank you for trying to communicate in English - please continue to do so if you can but perhaps if you can provide a French version of what you mean we can get to the bottom of this problem more quickly.

There are several people here who speak French who can help us.

I know that google translate is a bit of problem; the conversions from Dutch to English are sometimes very funny. Now that I speak Dutch I have forgotten most of my French...

Anyway I have a spare 722.118 in my garage that I have just pulled to bits to see if the dimensions match those that you have given.

They do. The part is approximately 10mm wide - but it is different from the picture you have posted. Here's the picture I took.

The part is actually closer to 12mm as you can see in the picture. These parts are all messed up in this spare transmission that I have. I don't know why they are like that.

To access this part of the transmission it isn't too difficult. You do need to remove the valve body though so you need to be careful - particularly as the input select shaft needs to stay connected to the parking mechanism in the tail cone of the transmission.

I'm pretty sure that there is nothing of the size (10mm) in the valve body that looks like that.

At first I was thinking that it could be a blanking bung for the transmission filter that just got left in by accident. I'm not sure if it is that though. I'll make some measurements again tomorrow.

I do have yet another transmission in my garage that I can have a look at for you - this time a 722.112 (I think) I'll check to see if that has different looking brake band parts in it (but again tomorrow not now!).

Google translates the word "tiroir" as drawer which makes no sense in the context of transmissions to me! Can you think of a different word (in French) for the part you mean?

I don't know which picture you mean.

If you copy the link to the picture and then add that to your question (as a link or insert it as a picture) then I'll know which one you mean.

If you use the functionality of the forum to send me an email I will respond. I don't want to place my email address here for all to see as I'll just get more fantastic job opportunities and offers for cheap viagra...

If you have more pictures, however, I encourage you to post them up here for all to see - someone else might recognise what it is and help us out. Use the full power of the forum! (Don't just rely on me)
