Diesel Water Wetter
Those of you that use DWW, how much do you use?

I haven't used that stuff in along time, but the website says that one bottle will treat 3 to 5 gallons of coolant.

The website also says that diesel road cars should use the regular Water Wetter since Diesel Water Wetter lacks the rust and corrosion inhibitors that regular Water Wetter has.

I use 1/2 bottle of the diesel water wetter in my Mercedes. The pH buffers et al are already in the Mercedes coolant, so I don't see the point in using the regular Water Wetter.

babymog, have you seen a difference on the temp gauge? My temp consistently runs 85-90 and has never went above 100. I would like to get those temps down to 80-85. |

I don't believe that you will get it below normal unless you install a colder thermostat, which would be bad for the engine in general.]
Also, there is some variation between gauges and sending units, and both are likely nearly 30years old on your car.

I put WW in mine but I didn't see any difference.

I only add it to help prevent cavitation pitting, not for any cooling problem. If you have a cooling problem then this would at best be a temporary fix.
In my coaches, I notice hotter water in the heat exchangers (domestic water heater dribbles from the T&P valve, doesn't without water wetter) and hotter air from the heaters, not sure whether I am getting hotter air at the heater/defroster in the Mercedes, but did notice that the heated washer-fluid bottle boils dry fast when using water wetter (presumably from higher heat-transfer heating the fluid more).
