manual transmission output bearing
Does anyone know how to change an output bearing in a 240D manual transmission? Does the tranny have to come out. The output shaft makes noise while coasting and when you turn it by hand. Could it be something besides the bearing? We took off the drive shaft and it still makes a noise.

The transmission must be removed! Also as there are 2 completely different transmissions for this car, the replacement of the front bearing CAN require complete disassembly of the trans!!! Not a DIYer.
