1986_'87 L6 td into SL roadster

Looking into swapping an '86 - '87 Mercedes 3.0 six cylinder Turbo Diesel into a 1991 - '97 V8 or 6 cyl. SL roadster convertible.

Is this possible using Factory Parts or entail custom fabrication ?
