Dash Light help, tough one....
Ok car is a 1983 300 D, Dash lights havent worked since I purchased the car.
I checked fuses, removed them and replaced, Replaced reohastat (dimmer), replaced light switch (main light switch), dash light dont even try to come on when i turn the dimmer back and forth. Which pin on the round connector controls the dash lights. What else could this be, I have heard that there might be another fuse? I have sold the car and would like the dash lights to work for the next owner.

its the pin on the left, did u solder the two conection on the back of the rheostat?

Ill solder the connection tomorro, I dissasembed the (2nd) rehostat, sanded the connections, and reassembled so that the metal parts were at the max.
When you say the pin on the left? ther are like 12, do you mean the one at 9:00 ?

o sorry, by pin i thought u meant wich knob on the dash adjusted the lights

yes turn signals work, same with glow, seat belt and other misc lights, but no dash lights, no CCU lights, no shifter light.

The CCU lamps are "downstream" from the instrument cluster illumination lamps, as are the front console window switch LED's. The shifter lamp is powered from the light switch terminal K (not through the instrument cluster), which also provides power to the aforementioned pin 11 on the round connector (C151).
Do all of your parking lights work? If the passenger side parking lights don't work, fuse #1 could be your problem. Last edited by tangofox007; 02-20-2007 at 11:33 PM.

Problem solved
It turns out that one of the terminals inside the reostat was missing, im refering to one of the round brass connectors that connect directly to the circuit board, So it didnt matter even when i jumperd the reostat, i still had no lights.
After I noticed it missing i jumped the main board pins, and one dash light came on, changed a bulb and they were both back. Thanks for the responses, just wanted to conclude this repair incase this ever happens to anyone else.
