wanted: 190 d tranny and feedback

Hello people, i can get a 190d with low mileage for a sweet price but trans is almost gone... what would a tranny cost at the yard and does anyone have one? how difficult is it to replace? (i can put an engine in a french car, just to state I'm reasonably handy)
