grille molding clips.. help!
Hi .. I have recently bought 2 replacement chrome moldings for my 1980 300sd grille. It did not come w/ the little clips to attach them to the grille however. Does anyone know where I can buy these? They look to be very little clips. Any help would be appreciated.

I know on my 123, they just slid on to the grille insert, no clips. The grille insert had little "fingures" that the grooves of the trim locked onto.

Maybe PM the benz bar [Alfie]. He seems to come across parts cars quite frequently.
Another guy you may want to try is mbzace on ebay. He's a buyer and sells very little but, by using advance search, you can contact him and tell him I sent you. I'm sure he's got some. Cheers, Bill

A few years ago I bought replacement grille moldings for my 80 300SD right here from FastLane.
When I placed the order Phil was able to find the part number of the plastic clips and got them for me as well. Give him a call (1-888-333-4642) he may be able to hook you up. I may have a few left in the plastic bag with the part number on it. I will take a look in the garage tomorrow.

Just to make things interesting, the clips for the vertical strip are different from the clips for the horizontal strips.

Called Phil today per your instructions and ordered a set of vertical as well as horizontal clips: Part numbers were: vertical: 0039882078; horizontal: 2019882578
Thanks a million (or 7 bucks worth given that is what it cost).. pretty cheep 'little' parts. Mike
