Euro lights

I have a 1987 190 E 2.3, and am looking for opinions on Euro lights. Would you guys rather replace the headlight frames, or go with the euros? Is the brand DEPO any good? Where should I get them? Anyone want to do a group purchase?

thanks
nathan

No brainer, go with the euros. If you're not a MB purist, the Depos are fine, they even have the vaccum height adjust capability. There's been discussion about getting the right clear corners to match the euros, there are differences in the color glass that used on Bosch (clear) and Hellas (slightly darker) with the Depos being slightly darker like the Hellas.

the depos are an amazing value for the money...i have them in my car now...great construction...etc. what i would suggest is chroming them before you install

I had some DEPO front clear corner lights. Compared to Bosch lights, the DEPOs are junk. Poor molding, ie a short shot. The bulb holders wouldn't stay in because of the bad mold. The right side finally left the car while I was driving because the latch didn't positively engage the car fixture.

I definately would go with euro lights though....a real improvement over stock DOT. But I think I would stick with Bosch.

YMMV.

i haven't had any problems with any of my depo products...
but hey if you've got the money to burn on bosch, which run you almost 2 - 3 times more...then woo hoo go for it! :D

Like I said, YMMV. Just relating my experience which is all I have to go on. And actually, I paid $5 more for the DEPO corners than the Bosch, but I obviously didn't get the best price. I just may have ended up with a bad pair. I'm glad you had good luck with them, mushedroom.

yeah i got the corners for like 25.00 bucks...bosch was selling for like 55.00
yikes...

I have Depo clear corners on my 190 and they fit fine. The white plastic nut that they give you to hold the part in is not as good as the OEM, so I just re-used the original nut. I had no problem fitting the original bulb holder (so that I could have blinker and running light) into the Depo and threw away the lamp holder they include.

I ordered the DEPO lights for my 190E last fall with the group buy here. (I'm pleased with them) I'm in the process of slowly restoring it (the car), so it hasnt been an issue that I have installed the light assembly with no bulbs. What bulbs to I need to buy for them? For the headlights and fogs?

Thanks
