My 126 has about 500 000 km on her now and is also in need of a valve job and is leaking a bit of engine and tranny oil. Paint was a problem but just had it all redone now in the summer aswell as new shocks put in.
Its like a new car and I know what you mean about the emotional attachment to the 126 or any Benz for that matter.
