Well Ive torn all fuel lines and the the fuel filter assembly out because of the 2 tank system in the car and am replacing all with OEM original set up so end goal is to resurrect this car after sitting 6 years and have it run as best as it can and with times changed and all just a little more effort at this time wont hurt.
Fuel starvation at any point for any reason is unacceptable for me at this point and is about the only drastic thing I want out of it.
From what I recalled the car was hard to start but ran out nice once warmed up and sounds great at 80mph.
Hard to start was 4 bad glow plugs and 3 good injectors with one being a total pisser.
This far in with no return and don't mind upgrading while doing this task is all!
Read other articles where some felt the fuel system was lacking and hope to hear from someone who has increased the flow with less resistance and found it to be worth wild upgrade.
Totally surprised that such a fine automobile does not have any water separator but apparently the OM606 will use just about anything for fuel and shoot broken bolts from it's arse and keep going.
The idea that a flow through fuel pump seems to have helped old diesels with worn supply pumps and injector pumps from my understanding also gives some oomph on uphill battles trying to pass a tanker.
