Making progress on the W111 Coupe
Made some good progress on the coupe over the last week. Finished the rear brakes (rebuilt calipers, new Ate pads and Ate rotors. Had previously done all the flex hoses). Replaced the rotted Alpine speakers that a previous owner had cut into the front kick panels, with an old school look pair of Blaupunkt XL's. Took care of the worn out alternator pulley and crumbling wiring at the alternator, and rebuilt the electric fuel pump a week ago. Replaced the rotted/missing shifter bushings prior to that, but left the front tunnel area apart pending the next bit of work.
Next project is to rebuild or completely replace the heater unit. The blower motor is dead and blows the fuse immediately. I have a complete unit coming from Denmark, and it left New Jersey on Friday, so should be here fairly soon. While I've got that all torn out I'll fix the seized fresh air flap cable.
I also need to rebuild the front calipers because they've never been done, and the right side drags slightly. I have the kits, so will probably do that this coming weekend.
It's nice to have it driveable again and had it out yesterday with the run roof open, enjoying the weather, and running errands.
