I'll do the O-rings and verify that oil is staying in the oil filter housing after shutdown. I do get 90psi oil pressure on the gauge within 1/4 second of starting(cold), and the rattling does continue after there's pressure on the gauge, so I'm pretty sure that's not a huge part of it. When it's warm at idle it'll only have 15-20psi and it doesn't rattle then. Pressure goes right back up as soon as it gets above idle.

I'm anxious to do another compression test. This new starter cranks a LOT faster, I bet my compression numbers are a LOT better now.
Hmmm any evidence of wear on the camshaft and followers? Spray bar nice and free of junk?

(And you are sure it is drive train rattle and not injectors?)
