Hassle-free battery change.
I'm contemplating installing a new battery and I'd like to do this without having to re-program radio, windows, etc.
Can I connect booster cables to the terminals of my current battery ( with another battery connected to them ), and disconnect the old battery?

On our C220, I used test leads to another battery with alligator clamps and they worked fine. Just be sure to not short anything out and be sure the jumpers stay on until the new battery is hooked up.

That will work, but it will be quicker and easier IMO to just reprogram things. You can reprogram everything in a minute or two.

I use a battery charger, mostly because its handier for me, but its also safer if I short something out. It works just fine.

I vaguely remember a little device that used a 9v battery plugged into the cigarette lighter to keep the memories alive during a battery swap. Turning anything on, of course, wiped it out.
