Can anyone explain what the bowden cable aka control pressure cable does?
Can anyone explain what the bowden cable aka control pressure cable does?
Also how would a rookie like me adjust it on a 1991 2.6? Thanks in advance |
The cable sycronizes a valves movement in the valve body to the amount of throttle being applied. The point is to delay upshifting for the mechanical advantage that the lower gearing brings.
If you wish later shifts more movement is adjusted. Earlier shifts equal less movement. |
how do I adjust it? It seems to hesitate shifting a lot especially when cold and then shifts hard when it finnakky switchs geras. Only seems to effect the car on the first 2 shifts.
Thanks. |
Does it shift around 3000 RPM on that first shift? If so, that is NORMAL, intended to speed the warmup of the cat.
