w210 early vs. late style key remote

All, I have a '98 w210 that uses the all black plastic style key remote. Is it possible to "upgrade" to the late w210 style key? (the one with the chrome sides and red triangle)

Thanks

Yes, replacement keys are the newer style - pretty sure also for the '98. Not positive if it is chrome or the panic button, but smaller.

I beleive all W210s originally had the ugly looking triangle keys, the chrome capped keys came in somewhere around 05. But you can just order a key from the dealer, it will be the new chrome capped one.

From my prior research, only USA market cars had a panic button.

Just for completeness,

97 had a metal flip key with a RFID chip and a single button
