long story short, first owner lost key and did not know that he can get a spare key with his VIN number, so he replace the cylinder, first owner sold it to second owner he too lost the key but never got time to reinstall it so he sold to us and that's where we have to install the key thankfully we got a mechanic to help us out with the key...it seems that there is a curse on this car for loosing the key

so it something that has to do with the emissions system...

Arthur Dalton 12-14-2008 06:48 PM

When you said it had "a built in phone and some fancy buttons on near the map light" plus it was saphire black metallic that definitely indicated a Special Edition. The stainless steel door sills are a sure sign. Those are missing on models that aren't real Special Editions.

You also said it has dual batteries. What is that about and where are they located?

iwrock 12-15-2008 03:40 PM

Does not have dual batteries, or at least it should not. The battery should be in the trunk.

iwrock 12-15-2008 03:41 PM

Its got a 4 speed autobox. Its got a 722.3.

babymog 12-15-2008 05:02 PM

The phone and buttons by the mirror are optional on the E 320, one of mine has it all, so is the CD changer. The color, burlwood, wheels, and door-sills are the things you can't get on a regular E 320.

glad to see you saved her, I hate to see those parted out. In my opinion that model/body style was one of the last great mercedes benz made, hopefully we will start to see good things from mercedes again! (post chrysler)

babymog 12-15-2008 10:00 PM

That's a new one. Battery should be under the hood in a '95 E 320.

Make sure you install regular copper core non-resistor plugs.

Your ignition system uses 3 coil wires and 3 high tension leads that piggy back to the next plug. So each coil wire is responsible for firing two cylinders.
