190E 2.6 5spd
Anyone out there have a 190E 2.6 5spd stick and could give me at least a vague idea of what kind of milage to expect?
Thanks! -Matt- |
I bought one for my daughter about 6 months ago. I think she's getting roughly 250 miles per tank for mostly short, in-town driving. So, about 19 to 20 MPG.

There is a fine gentleman named Duke2.6 who has one with a 5 speed. He keeps it in excellent tune as well...do a search and drop him a pm.
cheers, dan r. www.fueleconomy.gov might help too! |
Mileage will vary DRASTICALLY due to driving style. I would say that the car is capable of 28 or so on the highway. In town mileage will vary from as low as about 16 to about 22 depending on the weight of your foot and your shift habits.
Good luck, |
EPA mileage ratings were 18/26, but like Larry said, it's very dependent on your driving habits and style.
I find high teens to low twenties around town depending on how much is freeway jaunts and mid to high twenties on a road trip. A long time ago I got one freeway leg at a little over 30, but that was pre-oxygenated fuel, which had about 3 percent more energy content which is about one MPG. Short trips in urban traffic will yield the worst mileage. Long trips at or below the speed limit will yield the best mileage. I also run regular unleaded, but since I only use my 190 during the winter months when temperatures are cool, it only occasionally exhibits a little transient detonation with my normal short shifting driving style when it's warm. In that case I just rev it a little higher in each gear. During hot summer weather at least mid-grade if not premium will probably be required to keep it out of significant detonation. Duke |
I'm averaging approximately 24.08056 mpg with mine on with mostly mid-grade gas with about half and half freeway and city driving.
