1987 W126, headlight relay?
Does this vehicle have a headlight relay? If so where is it located and is it fused?
My low beams do not come on at and I just cleaned the fuse panel and installed all new fuses with no luck. Both bulbs are fine too. |
TTT... hello out there. :D

My 1990 did not have headlight relays. I put them in when I converted to Euro lights.
Lotsa current passing through those little wires on a 126. Sometimes the problem is in the Headlight switch itself. rogerben |
NO relays for headlights on that car! Does have a fuse for each bulb function.
Do the correct fuses get hot(power) when you select high or low beam Car has lamp monitor ECU that checks to see if each bulb draws correct amperage. |
The headlight switch is what I'm thinking, but on the flip side all positions work on it from L/R parking, Fog, Parking, and Off. I can get one for next to nothing so I just may get one to see.
Each of the four fuses get power when the headlight switch is flipped on. Does this Lamp Monitor ECU have anything to do with them being able to flip on? I'm sure I have a simple problem like the few other things that were wrong with this vehicle. Thanks for the input so far! :) |
How about the combination switch? Do the high beams work?

Nope no Highs either. :( The turn signals do work if that makes a bit of difference |
Tried the other Combo switch I had laying about for my SD... makes the highs work but still no lows. What does this mean? I need to get a Combo switch for sure. The jury is still out on if I should get another main switch.
