I don't mind customization if it's quality work, but this is clearly a poor job. It looks like someone took a bunch of box tubing and door hinges and welded them up into a roof frame! Ugh, makes me sick.

The rusted CA license plate - even though the car is in NY - is also a work of art that definitely required a close-up shot. I'll bet that cheezy stuff on the convertible-top frame is water-pipe insulation bought at his local Home Depot. I also like his "need some quick refinishing" comment. This poor car will be anything but quick in returning its original grandure. 21K? This guy's insane!

Saw A 53/300 4 door with a butcherd ragtop at royal motor cars Holywood Cal,
The frane that held the door's . Made me sick, the welds where tear able they did not even use the right chrome for car they wanted 40,000$ it was not worth 10,000$.
what ever happen to the guy who was making a 108 body, convertable that would have been bad the frane would have had to be made heavyer. just like the 111 the frane would have not held up.

I'd be careful posting this type of ad if I were you. It's darned sure deserving of an infraction and it might even get you banned!

Some of us are of the "sensitive" type and this style of wanton butchery could upset our mental state for days, if not months!

Now where's my sawzall? I've got an old W114 sedan around here... Hey, if the guy can try for 21K with THAT then I should be able to get 15K for a FOUR door "convertible". Let's see, I've got that old PVC piping over there, some door hinges over here, one of those snazzy two colored plastic tarps covering the tractor....

Here is what I would like to think: A tree fell on it and he decided to make the best of it. I know, it is still an unbelievable pile of *****...

This guy is certainly no engineer. I'll take the interior, he can keep the Earl Sheib paint job!

I have dreamed about converting a Fintail into a convertible. That car is a nightmare. If a tree fell on it, he would have been better off making it into a roadster and not having any top at all. It would be better to have an umbrella handy.

$21,000.00 ??? You would have a better chance of selling HERPES. That car is worth the sum of its usable parts. More like $3,000.00. My apologies to the owner.

It's a shame, because it appears to have been a very nice car before the roof-removal. Can it not still be saved by a nicely-done roof? Or perhaps someone in cali who doesn't need a roof at all?

Looks like that top wouldn't make it past 35mph... doesn't seem like thats necessarily a bad thing. I wouldn't even park my motorcycle under that cover!
And how about that roofline that doesn't quite make the same curve as the rear window, or the burned out tail light? Strip it down to a roadster dude, and if it gets cold just toss the tarp on the fire.

Basically they want 21K for some seats as that looks like the only nice thing on the car. The top looks like something I made to keep the pine cones and needles out of my fishing boat.

look closer at the seats and you will see they are covers from something else, possibly a W108 . And No W111 coupe ever came with MBtex...
The stuffing is missing or the springs have broken.
Gael still hasn't told us why he cut the roof of though.
