^Agreed, turn the allen screw countercheck wise to "tighten" the steering. If you go too far in, you won't get lock to lock steering ability.

Thanks guys, I was thinking changeover valve was the culprit.

I do have an FSM, just too cold to pull the dash, or do much of anything, just trying to get a handle on this issue.

There is a very short radiator hose on the side from the t'stat housing, check that for leaks.

Yes, it's simply a double nut deal, a locking device. Use two wrenches, or buy the special tool MB sells. The new shocks come with a lock nut, Nyloc or similar.

I haven't had any issues replacing them.

Part # 14 & 17 are 115 267 12 50.

Your shut off controller (actuator) may be suspect.

Remove the brown/violet vac line going to it, is there any evidence of oil? If so, you have a ruptured diaphragm, replace it.
