Interesting proposal, though I'd need a turbo engine with the wagon/sls head. Yours are CD and SD engines right, no SLS pump on them?

Oh, forgot to add.
It doesn't seem to consume any oil, and maintains both normal temperature and oil pressure during drive, even when flooring it for miles and miles.

Losing power, developing a knock (om617)
My 83 300TD non-turbo 617 has lost a bit of power and has developed a knock since about 2 months or 8000 kms.
The engine has about 373.000 km on it and appears normally maintaned, I have owned it...

Parking brake same on W113 and W108?
I have a W108 rear axle needing new hand brake/parking brake cables. Seems the 108 ones are pretty hard to find, but 113 flavour has better availability.
Anyone know if I could use the W113 cables...

W123 power steering only one direction
Looking at a 1980 W123, seller says power steering only works clockwise but not counterclockwise. Is this an easy fix? Seems like a fluid valve stuck or something like that. A costly repair?

Might have found my answer; appears only 250, 280 and coupe models had wooden trim, others (200,230,200D,220D,240D) did not. Not sure about the 240D 3.0 though.

From an orthodox point of view, only the early (74-76) OM617.910 is a true 240D 3.0-engine. A random "300D-engine into a 240D-body"-conversion (.912, .950-952) will never be a 240D 3.0 but something...
