Yeah D97, I went and read the manual and it says you have to turn off the recirculating air button . I did and now I can control the fan speed like I can when the a/c is on.

No and yes. I tried the other remote and it works from approximately 20 feet. Next time we are near a MB dealer I will stop in and see about getting a new battery. Thanks!!

Okay, I did not know that about the key. But why do I have to be within about 4-5 feet of the door for it to unlock them?? That makes it not much better than having to insert the key to unlock....

Yesterday we were driving our 1999 E320 and heard a noise that sounded like the cooling fan coming loose. At the same time the a/c quit working. The blower was still working but only in the ec mode....
