Put away the hotdogs and make salmon patties. Clean off the skin, add egg, lemon, garlic, and breadcrumbs or bits of broken bread - fry them in olive oil. Fantastic. At every potluck I take them they disappear quickly.

I don't have any guns on this trip and I have not seen any reason to feel I needed to be carrying concealed around here. There are military ppl, police and I don't know what else all over the place.

The biggest issue is in prep for the parade there are a lot of roads shut down causing driving to be a pia. We been either walking or taking Lyft.

Oh yea, dinner at Gordon Ramsey's Hell's Kitchen tonite. Wife's with me on this ride around so got to eat at nice places.

I had to go to DC once a quarter for work several years ago and we always stayed at the Hamilton. Food was good and the bar was really nice too - as long as the company was paying of course!

if you think you need a gun to go the Hamilton then you must be afraid of your own shadow.

That's the truth. The Hamilton is within spitting distance of the White House. Heck I feel safer here than I do in Macon, Ga.

I'm staying in Georgetown, a couple/few miles to the capital.

For real...

I have a fairly nutty family member (glued to fox news) who refuses to go into philly or new york. He gave me a stern warning last year when told hin I had a work trip to san francisco. Had to laugh and let him know Ive been there a thousand times and its nothing like he sees on the news.

People need to leave their hometown more...lots of grass to touch.
