California Residents

If you live in California and are due to renew your drivers license (Class C license) here is some helpful information:

Using the DMV website (dmv.ca.gov) complete the application for license renewal on line and pay the $41 renewal fee on line.

Sign up for the DMV Virtual Test Center. Complete the 45 minute tutorial covering driving laws in California. The tutorial includes several quizzes about the laws. Once you have completed the tutorial and taken the quizzes, you have completed the knowledge test required for license renewal. Your test completion will automatically be included in your application. The Virtual Test Center is good for 12 months so you have 12 months to complete the tutorial and knowledge test. After 12 months if you are not completed you will need to file a new application and pay a new renewal fee.

Schedule an appointment at your local DMV office and bring a copy of the email confirming your completed application with confirmation that you have completed the knowledge test. Bring proof of identification (valid U.S. passport, social security card, etc.) and a utility bill confirming you are a resident of California.

Take the vision test, have a new picture taken and be fingerprinted. You are done. The DMV will also mark your new license VETERAN, if you are a veteran.

You will not need to take a written test because your have completed the knowledge test on line.

I'd suggest some heavy study into the word "license" to see where, exactly, that puts YOU in relation to the government.......

I consider driving a privilege. This information was posted as I thought it might help California members on this forum to be able to renew their license more easily without the anxiety associated with taking a written test. Thanks.

the word "driving" is a commercial term; look it up. CDLs are required for drivers who are "for hire".

Anyone else think Husky sounds like one of those Sovereign Citizen clowns? It would explain a lot of his POV's.

this. Go buy yourself a recent edition of Black's Law Dictionary as well as Ballentines and a Bouvier's while you are at it. Look up the term "driver" and "license". If you don't read or comprehend common english, have your wife explain it to you.

now boys and girls, where to purchase these valuable reading materials?

https://www.amazon.com/Blacks-Dictionary-BLACKS-DICTIONARY-STANDARD/dp/1539229750/ref=sr_1_4?crid=2W86W4NPR4I83&keywords=Black%27s+law+dictionary&qid=1689869727&sprefix=black%27s+law+dictionary%2Caps%2C140&sr=8-4

https://www.amazon.com/Bouviers-Law-Dictionary-Vol-Constitution/dp/1484136373/ref=sr_1_1?crid=373IK7ADXJSBT&keywords=bouvier%27s+law+dictionary&qid=1689869781&sprefix=bouvier%27s+law+dictionary%2Caps%2C135&sr=8-1

You will have to look around for a Bouvier's, they are a little more difficult to locate.

and, just for fun, here's the definition straight out of Funk and Wagnell's 1942 dictionary for the word "license". Remember, boys and girls, me, myself and I didn't write this one......

"LICENSE:

5. In International law, permission granted by a belligerent power to its subjects, or those of the enemy to carry on a trade interdicted by war."

no wonder the cops and the courts treat you so poorly.....

How about a janky paper license plate that says "traveler" or "Private non citizen"

Bonus points for insisting it is lawful.

Back when dinosaurs ruled the earth the difference in a normal DL and the top of the line Chauffers license, in Texas anyway, was ten bucks. Pay a little more and you get the full ride.

Then the state changed it to normal DL every seven years and Chaufs had to pay renew every year.

Still, no further testing. Just hand over the cash.

I got the full license so I could drive a big truck if necessary. Plus you needed one for motorhomes.

Then came the big shake up. You had to prove you could drive a big truck. So I had to rent a bit U-Haul to take the test. Then they changed it to no more U-Hauls. Now it had to be a full sized semi.

So I dropped down to a normal DL. And then that went to every four years.

I think this is what Trump is taking about when he says to make America great again. Full ride DLs for just a small uncharge.

That would partly explain his issue with law enforcement and his references to what citizen means...etc

Did this the last time when I renewed my license, complemented the women who helped me at the DMV on what a pleasant and quick experience it was. Combine this with registering your car at the AAA office and your golden.

news flash; you don't own your car. As long as its "registered" the state owns it. After registration, the DMV gives you a piece of paper that says "Certificate of Title" which (drum roll) IS NOT A TITLE.

Isn't it fun being a slave?

That’s funny. Mr cars are registered in California and I also have an ownership certificate “Pink Slip” for each that that’s that either my wife or me are the legal owners of the vehicles.
