Man that's a lotta car for 16K. Sweet find. Handling wise, mushy like a Lexus or firmer like a BMW, or in between like a Benz?

Softer than a Benz, firmer than a Lexus.

They are looking like real cars for sure. I probably would not buy one but if they continue to improve I probably would in the future.

This car is a hoot. Very fast and nobody knows what it is. I was confused at Thanksgiving because my cousin asked if I was going to keep the Bentley. I thought she was joking, so I said of course, and my Ferrari. Her grandmother asked if it was a Bentley in the driveway as she's never sat in one. Finally I understood, explained it's a $16,000 Hyundai.

Daily I see people looking over my car with confused expressions, trying to figure out what the heck it is. Lot's of compliments. Most of the time it gets confused for a Mercedes, a few times Lexus.

Those sneaky South Koreans, they dont get that when you copy the big name expensive brands in style and function and sell it for a lot cheaper, you typically dont build a better or equivalent car to the expensive brands.

They are messing up the formula

First service today at the Hyundai dealer. 45,000 miles. Got the detailed once over, chassis lube, along with a synthetic blend oil service. I also requested they replace the wiper blades. During the service, they recommended I change both the cabin and air filters.

All of this was done for $90.00 Both filters were $30, and they don't charge for labor since you have to pull the air filters out to inspect them. Also no charge in labor for the minute it takes to install wiper blades.

Without the extras, it would have been $34.95 plus tax. Free car wash and vacuum included.

What exactly does the chassis lube consist of on a new car?

I get it when there are numerous grease fittings, does this have a greasable front end?

The Bentleyesque 'wings' festooned on the rear decklid prompts the Bentley misspeaks. The front end screams; Mercedes-Benz, so no wonder the reactions. The Asians are masters of duplication, so this car is no surprise. One of my managers drives the ?Equis? and is quite proud of it. The Hyundai cars are cheap to buy, own and operate, so they're a slamdunk on their popularity.

They need fair climates in comparison to other brands. All brake and fuel line coatings are sub standard so they rust out too easily here. Fit and finish issues ongoing with weather stripping etc. have not been addressed.

A lot of their mechanical systems seem to hold up well and even their automatic transmissions seem to be fairly decent. No resale value on their cheaper line cars still like the accent and elantra.

So purchase price should be cheap to keep the car compedative in overall costs of ownership. Right now a stripped new elantra is less than eleven thousand in Canada.

What he's identified is a temporary ownership window of miles and time in an excellent vehicle to buy. IIRC, they're warranted for 10 years / 100K miles, so, it's almost a guaranteed slamdunk of a good buy. He's also a registered Car Dealer in the State of Kansas, so, he's not only able to buy them cheaper than retail buyers, he's also not paying sales taxes on the car. Not sure if this is legitimate or legal? Not that it matters, but that's two huge advantages over the public in this particular transaction.
