I like the picture that looks like she's vomiting off the side.

Say that around here and they'll think yer gay er one of 'em intellelectooals.

I got a deposit on my Yukon Denali today, so I'm a truck shoppin'

Ideally it would be exactly what I had except the truck version. One dealer I worked at used to sell Southern Comfort conversions and the quality was absolutely horrible. Probably one of my biggest regrets was convincing someone to buy one of these... (well, I didn't try that hard, he just had very poor taste)

It looked like this:

Love me some of that fade paint. Did it come complete with an aftermarket leather interior?

Yes, it had ostrich inserts. I'm not kidding... ostrich.

It was pretty funny when people would stop to look at one. They would see the original window sticker, walk in the door exclaiming that they'll buy the truck on the spot. They always glanced right over the 20k Southern Comfort Conversion add on sticker.

Awwwwwwweeesome haha I knew a few people that had those Regency conversions with aftermarket leather interiors but regency wouldn't change the door cards so the doors had cloth inserts.

My father had a Regency suburban in the late '90s and I liked it. They used leather I would compare to private jet quality, and the body kit was tasteful after dad had all the vinyl graphics peeled off. If I recall correctly, it looked like a giant heart monitor going down the road with the wild pinstripe.

10 years before that I can vaguely recall my mother's Chevy Conversion Van. Wall to wall oak, curtains, TV, and the back seat folded down into a bed.

Very tough crowd.

Tyler I know someone selling a 2008 Silverado 1500, extended cab, 6ft bed. Its dark blue, every option they offer but nav, 20kish miles. He is asking $22k for it.

I like pickup trucks, except for the fuel burn they are not bad to drive.

I like pickups too, I just don't like conversions. Plus I'm a Ford truck man, but that's a flamewar for another thread.

IMHO trucks are only good for hauling big stuff and towing, they don't have to be pretty. If I needed one, I woud buy one and consider it a required piece of equipment. I don't like driving them or looking at them and would prefer to hire someone else on the rare occasion that I need something moved. Around here there are a few serious off-road trucks and some real work trucks, but most are just penis extension devices. I can think of other ways to spend $40k.

Never Spent More Than $4K on a Truck.

Even the young ones...

F150 Straight 6 $1500
Ranger 3.0 SuperCab $1250
4 year old Ranger 4.0 XLT 4X4 $3995

All were bought as work trucks with at least 120K on them and all were sold to co workers after I put another 150K on them and all are still running.

A truck is a tool to get the job done. Lift kits and crap like that is like trying to teach a pig to dance...it ain't pretty and it annoys the hell out of the pig!

Haha! Could not think of a better way to describe the thing in the ad!

I don't like newer trucks, they look too sleek (not good) to be used for work. I like the look of older trucks (like the Chebby C/K lol), but I think that's partly because I'm nostalgic and they look like they should be doin' work.

A bit of truck bashing going on here so heres another take.... I don't like THAT truck, its pretty much useless, shortbed doesn't hold squat and the lift makes loading it impossible. That said I replaced the diesel pickup in my sig with an '04 Chevy longbed, reg cab, 2wd truck I use for work. Got it used for $10.5K with 28K on the odo. I did factory alloys to replace the steel wheels, a performance tune, intake and Flowmaster exhaust. The 5.3 with 3.73 gears tows just fine right up to 7 or 8K, and I did airbag helpers with a nice brake controller to do it safely. Its quieter and handles better than my 123. Its not particularly heavy for a truck and the 5.3 scoots it along very, very well. Fast, well not Corvette quick but it will suck up any normal econocar or family sedan with ease. And that makes it a hoot to drive, classic V8 rear drive power. Trucks are a necessity in my world and having one thats fun AND practical is a win/win any day.

And I'd plan with her cans if she let me.....

Its an LTZ? I could get a brand new one for near that price nowadays.

This is what I'm looking for; its fairly easy to find one with under 100k in the low teens.

Not much of a change for me, but I like the Denali platform alot. Here's whats going by by. Put 4500 miles on it some how since last October.

And another note, why do people buy gas trucks? Wouldn't a diesel truck be better with more torque for hauling stuff?

Personally I would never own a truck unless I had a job that required it.

I also feel like every truck I see up here has wheel well rust and the pick up bed has been rusting apart.
