No kidding. BHF is on a FM road but, the cabin is close to 1/2 mile from pavement...I've driven it when wet (in truck, tractor and Mercedes-Benz™) but it's nothing I'd want to do regularly. That's why I'm working on the gravel drive thing. I'm also fortunate that I came across LeathermanG on this forum. He recommended that we stick with property with at least paved FM or, RM road access and it was good advice. We looked at several places that were beautiful but were on unpaved county roads...most would have been OK but, a bad year could have made driving into and out of those places a real challenge. Our neighbor to the east has 500+ ac w/o paved road access...infact, he has to traverse over 4 miles of marginally-maintained county gravel road to get to his land. On several occasions, he's offered us a significant premium on the price we paid for BHF simply to have our land for access to the FM road.
