Is it nessesary to remove the fan cover and plug wires when pulling the distibutor cap AND where is the oxygen sensor located?

no it isnt to the first part and always mark the plug wires up and the disy cap so you dont put them back on the wrong way, the oxy/o2 sensor is in the down pipe after the header you will see whires going to it
