83 300D turbo in Whitestone NY $2000 or $3000 or best reasonable offers
Note: roof rack and roof top box not included. This has been my daily driver for the past 5 years. I just love this car since I've done so much work to it and learned a lot in the process with the help of this forum. 297k, starts and runs amazingly well and super reliable. I bought a pristine 85 300D turbo a few months ago and also have 2 VW's so have more cars than I need. Out of all the cars I have registered, I'd rate this 83 300DT as the second most reliable, below the pristine 85 300DT. It has a custom designed 2 tank WVO system. I'd prefer to sell it w/o the wvo system for $2000 or with the wvo system for $3000 or best reasonable offers in either configuration. If you do not want the wvo system, I will remove it and restore it to factory configuration. No harm has been done to the engine by the wvo (approx 60k on wvo). It actually runs just as well as my 85 if not better. The good: 4 brand new tires on clean Bundts Just changed oil and filter (always every 5k) New fuel filter New Monark nozzles 20K miles ago New Group 49 battery 2 years ago New 120 Amp alternator 2 year ago Rebuilt starter motor one year ago, always starts within the first crank in the coldest New England winter with no smoke. There is no blow by per the oil filler cap and garbage bag test. Air cleaner housing stays dry with no oily mess! Has a rebuilt transmission from the PO at around 220K (have receipt) RF lower ball joint replaced 3 years ago. all windows, sunroof and door/trunk lock works except right rear window (which I can fix) clean palamino interior except one rip in the sewing on driver's seat. Crack free dash Brakes are good with recent pads front and rear Suspension is good all around except for a slight squeaking from LF lower ball joint. It's not loose and handles fine. I have a knuckle with a new Lemforder lower ball joint already pressed in, ready to swap out with the bad one, which will be included (you give me back the knuckle with the bad ball joint). All gauges works Valve adjustment done every 15K Compression test done 15k miles ago and was perfect Minimal chain stretch Temp gauge always remain steady and never over heats in the hottest weather Manual control glow plugs using the factory glow plug relay (can be easliy reverted back to stock if you like) Open windows w/o key mod (can be easily reverted back to stock if you like) Engine uses approx a quart of oil every 2500 miles which is considered normal. The bad: Car has rusted jack points and also rusted through spots of the lower L and R front fenders as well as rust on the lips on the rear wheel well. A deer rammed the right front fender right under the mirror so there is a dent there. No AC. I was going to get the AC working but currently the compressor is removed from the engine when I installed a new clutch in it. The compressor will be included, you install. Cruise control actuator has been removed (will be included) Registration plates expires Oct 4th and I do not plan on renewing. If you want to test drive it legally, come see it before 10/4!
