Too Good To Be True (Tire Rack)!!

Two wks.ago,I bought a set of wheel&tires
at Tire Rack.On the way home,I noticed that
at speed, the tires rub when I hit a big dip.
Turned out wheel has a wrong offset. It sticks out about 5mm.of the fender wheel. That night,I e-mailed
the sales person, and he responded right away.
Went back to TR,unfortunately,no wheels w/ the
right offset. This is exactly what TR said:Sir,
since its our fault, how about an AMG?I said,
Its way over my budget.Sir,(I hate when they call me sir)we messed up so will give you the AMG.$200.
more than the orig.purchased price! To top it off,
they gave me 2 complimentary soccer balls.
TIRE RACK YOUR THE BEST!! I'm a happy satisfied
customer.

Thumbs up It is nice to hear...

not only the BAD experiences but also the GOOD experiences with some companies.
BRAVO Tire Rack! What better advertisement than word of mouth at MercedesShop. Keep up the good work!

Tire Rack has the best Customer Service you can imagine for an online operation. I bought my Bellos with SP5's per Luke's recommendation. It vibrated at speed and they paid for a dynamic balance at a Hunter 9700 shop ($80). The tire/wheel combo looks great, people always ask where I got em. Couldn't ask for more!!!

Tire Rack Customer Service

Kudos for the Tire Rack! As a auto specialty firm dealing with Mercedes and BMW's we have been exceptionally pleased with the Tire Rack and their personnel. At Southern MotorSports, their opinions regarding tires and rims are gospel.

Just putting in my kudos as well; have purchased from TireRack since before they went online. Always the best.

They make customer service look like the easiest thing in the world, something hundreds of other loser firms could learn from.

When winter is over, will be purchasing 16" MM Bellos with Bridgestone 950s. Can't wait!

Rather than start a new thread, reviving this one seemed appropriate.

Kudos to Tire Rack from a pleasantly surprised customer. Living out here in Honolulu means warm weather and getting used to seeing "offer not good in AK/HI" or "lower 48 states only" in ads and coupons. Searching for 225/45 R16 tires out here was proving futile, with either outrageous pricing and/or one month shipping dates.

I went onto Tire Rack's site, just for reference and found six or so tires in that size. When I checked the shipping . . . $82 for 2 Day FedEx shipping, roughly $20 per tire from Shreveport, LA to Honolulu. Even with the shipping, the cost per tire was lower from Tire Rack than anyone in town, including Costco.

In addition, the tires were shipped directly to my tire guys down the road and they have special discounted install rates for Tire Rack orders.

About the only "negative" was that I never did get a response to a couple e-mails to Luke, but I'm happy with the deal.

Count me in as another satisfied customer. A couple of years ago I ordered four KYB struts for a Saturn from TR, about a week after installing them, some yahoo on the highway dropped his load of 4X4 posts all over the highway in front of me, and I managed to avoid all but one of them, which I caught with a rear wheel. I had no trouble finding a tire locally, but no one could get me a replacement KYB strut overnight. I was content with the idea of paying full price and then tacking on whatever it took to get the strut the next day when I called them up. TR not only sold me a strut at cost, but then provided me with a free upgrade to overnight shipping, when was far above and beyond what I wanted, or needed them to do.

Yes, I do like TR, and that incident made me a customer for life. Now, my recent tire purchase for my 300D didn't come from TR, as I had planned, since they were sort of a gift from the wife. (Sorry, TR, I just married her, and have not yet trained her completely. I'll make sure she hits up TR the next time she needs tires.)

There should be a reply to your question via Mercedesshop's e-mail link.
