New to me today - 1987 Mercedes 560 SL

Good evening all,

I just purchased this car tonight. The previous owner had it for 5 years and only put 100 miles on it. He purchased it from a deacon from his church. The car has 156,000 mikes and is clean inside and out.

I will need to take care of a few minor things and will look to you all for guidance.

Thanks

Ron

No gas for us

You'll be wanting to switch forums. You posted to Diesel Discussion. If it ain't diesel, it ain't discussed here .

Navigate back to the "Technical Information and Support" menu and you will see an SL forum.

Happy motoring with your new car.

There is an SL forum here on Peachparts, but it is not too active. The most active one is on Benzworld.

Okay thanks I look it up. I did drive it today and had a ball. I took it thru the car wash and noticed the rear window on the have d top leaks. Is it possible to reseal it?

Also the blower motor is noisy. I guess it's time for a replacement. The spark plugs could also be changed. The drivers seat will be getting a noodle job in the very near future.

Otherwise it is a great car. I am very pleased.

I'd be grinning from ear to ear to Ron. Nice score!

Just curious, did it come with maintenance/repair records?

I have been, I'm excited like a teenager again. We all know my teenage days are far behind me. Been riding all day.

I will review the thread on the blower motor rebuild too.

Thanks all

Ron

OE spark plugs were non resistor. Hard to find original Bosch non resistor now. I and many others use NGK BP 5 ES. Congrats on the purchase. Looks good.
