MB just launched the new CLK here this week. Strongest seller is expected to be the 270CDI with 170bhp, 45mpg and 0-60 in 9sec.
Also offering a 200Kompressor, 240, 320, 500 and 55AMG. Looks good in the press photos. Haven't seen one yet.

why so low horsepower? my 89 260E can do a 9sec. im just curious if they limit the power allowed in cars in ireland

I think the 270CDI is a diesil,,, Not bad if you ask me!

Yeah it is deisel, and 170 out of that diesel is great, all CDI's are diesel

omg. thats what i get for skimming the post. i thought i read that the clk was the one with the 170hp. lol. sorry bout that. now that i read it, it makes much more sense!

I'm sure it's hard for those of you in the USA to imagine it, but these diesel coupes are selling very well in certain markets, ie France, Germany, Italy and Ireland where low-sulphur diesel is available and is cheaper than petrol/gasoline. I don't know if you get the current C-class Sportscoupe, but the C220CDI is the best seller. In Euro left-hand-drive you can buy an S400CDI V8, but sadly for me not in right-hand-drive, S320CDI only, which is a fine machine. I believe Volkswagen are bringing out a W12 diesel (yes W). The common rail technology is the future. All that TORQUE....
