If I joined 2006, ad the new guidelines came out 2011, I didn't know a rule like tat was even in place! and if I knew what the car was worth giving all that was done to it, I would gladly have a price on it ! Lets make the price $50,000 OBO !:D

to spend that much money,time,to make a S Class better than this new ****,leads me to think,there's a problem,or he want's a huge sum of money.Seen plenty old rusty diesels,and fake AMG's going for over $20,000.

i joined in 2005 and many of the FS ads turned into a 75 thread, back and forth post about the asking price. the changes were made in an effort to help both buyers and sellers. many people disregard the "rules" any way.
i think the benefit of establishing a price you'd be satisfied with (which you've already done in your head when you decide to sell something), and communicating that price in your ad, is to 'weed out' people who aren't in the same ball park.

I believe you are on the correct place to sell that, but doing it like it was on flea-bay. Maybe throw out an "asking" that you know will be countered lower than that. I would bet you get would get some action unless it is that 50K number. Just my 0.02.

I have not found the time to go and check out the car. What if I come over and offer $700 for the car? Would that really serve anyone's purpose and make it seem like a good idea to not throw a asking price out there?

I only come here every couple of ,months , but you guys are very funny! there is no problem with car, I am just board of it the thrill is over ! got a house, 3 kids and a lot of bills. Let me ask you guys a question ? what should I worry about, collage funds , or how fast I can get my 3.0 0-60 ? Look I work on cat + Cummings all day, I'm just bored! I put a lot of time into it , And I been away from these boards for a couple of years ,and I really don't know what to ask !So to shut every one up I put 50,000 make offer ! what's the big deal? mabey one day I start a new project !
