Transmission pressure tester

Can someone tell my of a readily available transmission pressure tester with correct fittings for my 93 300d?

Thank you

For setting the mod pressure? If so, I am interested also. :)

I think Mer$dedes $ource sells a kit for this don't they?

On the 722.3-722.4 it showsl 3 test ports. 2 on the left side and one on the right side.

There used to be a free .pdf on the internet ASTG Mercedes Transmission 722-3 722-4

It is the same info if you bought the ASTG about magazine size book.

Granger and likely Mc Master Karr have fittings that are metric on one and and US type AN Fittings on the other. Howeve, I don't know what metric size is needed.

I have also seen those fitting on eBay and auto speed shop type internet sites.

If you're looking for something cheap,

https://www.amazon.com/Engine-Transmission-Pressure-Diagnostic-Adapters/dp/B008GMN66E

No idea if it's any good.

The three ports are modulator, governor and working pressure. Be sure you're connected to the port you need.

What trans? If we are talking about the 722.3 - .4 -.5 I'm pretty sure they are xx mm x xx pitch. This is a gasketed fitting so you will need a crush washer. A banjo fitting may work if there is enough space.

EDIT. I looked at my adapter , it looks to be 8 mm , I'd have to check the pitch

Thanks guys, I just bought the HArbor Freight oil pressure kit which had metric connections on it smallest one is an M8 though. I may have to order an M8 to M6 fitting...

I just looked at the adapter I have, it looks like M8. This was made from a -4 JIC fitting cut off and welded to a drilled bolt.

Just ran out to the garage and checked on the transmission I'm trying to give away, which would be a 722.2 though.

Mod port is definetly M8x1.0 on this trans.

I have this kit: http://amzn.to/2oSZdEn and will definitely vouch for its quality, I've used it for work as well as diagnosing my own issues on vehicles.

It also has a M6 adapter too if the newer transmission is different.

Having the lower pressure gauge is handy for reading finer values.

But there is no sense in getting another set until you've confirmed on your trans if its M8 or M6

Im debatbog whether I should replace the whole modulator or just the oring. I’m fine with replacing the whole unit of all I have to do is tweak the pressure while idling. I don’t want to get into driving around with a gauge inside the car. How difficult is it?

I'm thinking this is pretty close to the same transmission. Maybe this will help:

You can drive while someone else looks at the gauge or someone else can drive while you look at the gauge.

What reference are you using to tell what pressures are OK?

Here are some manuals I found readily available on the web.

126 FSM, unzip & run the swf file for whatever you're working on. The htm files were the original menu files but they quit working after XP & I haven't bothered to figure the correct mods to make them work on Win 10.

There are a couple of 722.xxx trans manuals & some related to a Dodge Ram.

Harbor Freight sells an inexpensive fuel injection tester that has fittings that work and includes a cheap gauge too.
