Got a question about a OM603 head
I'm replacing my #14 head and installing a #18. Found that the 2 front internal hex bolts, down by timing chain, require a longer bolt on the #18 head.
Anyone know the length that's required? Thx. |

I had to do that when I replaced a #14 head with a #20. My 602/603 engine manual says the original M8x30mm Allen head cap screws are to be replaced with M8x50mm.

Ok, appreciate the info. Just wasn't sure how much longer they had to be.

Oh, 1 more ?. The turbo oil drain tube interfaces with an oring to a casting that bolts to the side of the oil pan; which has a gasket. Can't locate that gasket anywhere.
