Buried in buffalo
Well, not quite buried, <3 feet at my house, we can open the door, get out and walk the dogs, but the driving bans are getting serious, probably stuck in the house till Friday soonest. Anyone else in BFO?

I can't even imagine that much snow. I'm very glad we don't get anything like that here.

As a friend says in these situations, "Samsonite!!!" Or, I'd add, "U-Haul!"
I got out of that mess (SE Michigan) and came to the Sunny South. MUCH better. Dan |

Lucky you
Actually, lucky me! I'm an hour down the road in Rochester, we got 2 inches as opposed to your two yards of snow
![]() Although I have to drive to East Aurora (just south of BFO) Monday...they got hammered...lets hope they got the Thruway open by then...

After a trip to the pharmacy and market yesterday, my biggest alarm was alleviated by finding a spare roll of toilet paper. Should dig out the generator and get some gas at the corner. Many have it worse tho. Roof collapses are making the news- BJ's (big box store), warehouse for christmas store, a residence, trailer parks being evacuated. I cleared my shallow roofs yesterday, the steep one is not collecting much snow. Some are still stranded in cars or trucks. Some deaths to exposure, crunched when freeing a car up, snow shovel heart attacks. So really, avoiding a paper that I have to finish. Many have it worse.

Just glad it was not us on the east coast of Canada. That is a real mess but the weather should warm soon enough to get rid of it. Being it is still pretty early in the season.
I was surprised at the collapsing roofs though as your area is well known for snow. |

Record breaking snow. Used to 100"-120" over a winter. Some places will have that much by tomorrow.
Design load for a roof is 40-50 PSF, depending, or 7-9" standing water, if you look at it that way. This weekend's expected rain will make some people nervous

I agree under the right rain and temperatures conditions those roof loadings could substantially increase. Wet heavy snow is exactly that heavy.

We've had over 28" in the past week....no big deal.
We have now beaten the 119 year old record for snowiest november here, and there's still 10 days left this month! My driveway is nice and clean and the street is pretty good too. I took my 190d down some unplowed side streets today with snow 10" + deep....blasted right through. Snow tires rock! I have yet to find somewhere it will get stuck. This weekend it is supposed to rain....which could lead to a gigantic mess since all the drains are under 2 feet of dense slush and snow...probably going to be some significant flooding.

Nova? I was up to Pictou and Granton N.S. for work summer 2013. Incredibly beautiful. My family name was one of the 70 or so on the Hector passenger manifest poster everyplace had up for tourists. Everyone in town looked like me, a little lanky and reddish hair. Missed a bunch of men in plaid skirts festivities by the other side of town.
