Replacement backup Lens not even close... euro issue

One of the things I ordered with all my parts was a replacement backup lens, It's not even close to being the same size as the original. Does someone have the replacement part number for an 85 Euro 300TDT?

Here is the part ordered...

123-826-23-90-M81 $31.25 1 $31.25
Back-Up Light Lens (Left or Right) Brand: Ulo (1985 Mercedes-Benz
300TD Base Wagon)

I apologize if this isn't as helpful as providing you with a part number for your back up lens, however I think it's valuable enough info...

Here is a picture of one of the two back up lenses I pulled from an '85 Euro 300TD not long ago (along with the rear bumper). The lens looks just like the replacement you purchased from Pelican.

So perhaps the issue is that someone replaced the back up lights on your wagon with a different variety? Therefore a part number for what should be on a 300TD might not be super helpful to you.

Here's the thing, my RED fog light is the exact same size as my current clear, Both are original parts. So I think the issue, is the replacement ones are smaller than the originals. Also, notice how the face on yours is angled in? Mine are flat all the way across.

Wonder if the OE for the european market was different.

The ones on my wagon are like the one uberwasser sent the photo of.

Hang on, I have a damaged housing right outside... let me measure it. Standby.

My US spec 82, 85, and 80 all had the smaller one. So I'm thinking this is a Euro thing. Maybe to make up for only having a single clear instead of a pair of them like on the US version...

I'm having trouble finding a place that list actual euro parts...

Doesn't the "Russian EPC" give you the option to choose market?

With a part number, the Atlanta dealer online may spit out info?

Interesting. You're right, it's a Euro thing. The Euro bumper I pulled had the "replacement" style, then, and I simply assumed it was original. I looked at a picture of it installed that the person I sold it to took and the lights on it don't fill the openings in the bumper perfectly. So the longer light like you have is correct original part, as you've deduced

The Euro back up light is different than the US model. I replaced the whole assembly with a new one from Mercedes in 2012 and it was only $35. Part number 123 820 20 56. Gets you the correct Euro lens, bulb, housing, and electrical connection.

X2. USA bumpers and euro bumpers have different lights and they are not interchangeable.

The title of this thread makes it sound like it is PPs fault for sending the "wrong" lens.
