Left Turn Singing

The title seems strange, but I don't know how else to say it. Whenever I coast through a left turn while applying just a wee bit of power, something in the front right of the car sets up a harmonic.

If this were happening while braking, I would suspect wear sensors on the brakes, but its only happening under the circumstances above.

Other ideas (to me) are bearings, and that's bothersome considering some of the other sudden bearing failure stories on here.

Maybe its a belt or a bearing in a pulley that only acts up when the forces are just right?

This set in about a week ago, and has become a little more noticeable lately. Anyone have suggestions of other things to check? Also, if I jack up the car, how do I check for bearing play? I know that rocking the tire will allow you to check ball joints and tierod ends, how do you check bearings?
