190D trans modulator vacuum line location??

Hi,

I have a 1986 190D automatic.

I am trying to test the vacuum modulator on the transmission to see if it holds vacuum and was wondering where I can locate that vacuum line in the engine bay. Also, what color is that particular line?

I am troubling shooting my trans. and while there is a lot of information on the 300D, not so much on the 190D.

Thanks!

You don't need to do that from the engine bay. You can get under the Car and disconnect at the vacuum modulator and use your hand held vacuum tester/mightyvac to see if it holds vacuum.

I say that because I don't know what type of vacuum valve arrangement is on your engine. On mine there is a vacuum valve connected to the throttle linkages and you could test there if you have one.
It should be obvious which one is the supply line and which one goes down to the T modulator.

Thanks, I was trying to find the hose in the engine bay because I actually have to drop the engine and trans a couple inches to get to the vacuum modulator attached to the trans.

I think I finally found it though, it appears to be black with a white or blue stripe.
