Talking Cheap Cup Holder on Amazon is Great in W123's

After my 3rd early morning McCafe knock over in my 300TD's console I decided to find a solution. I ordered the Hopkins Twin Cupholder from Amazon because the dimensions looked like it should fit pretty well, and by gosh it does!

Today I drove 275 miles from Minneapolis to Madison, a McCafe and Coke went in the holder and successfully stayed in there with no tipping. Seriously it does work very well, it has a ratcheting action to fit many sizes of cups.

I'm kicking myself I didn't take the time to search for a well fitting solution for about 10 bucks, I've only had my car six years

I have one intended for a baby stroller. I found it at bed bath and beyond on the clearance table for a dollar. It is called "The Pod" but I have no idea who makes it. It clamps to the side of the carpeted well under the arm rest and looks good.

I think the original intent was something for Mama to hold her iced mocha and her iPhone while walking with the baby.

You do know why German cars have no drink holders, right? Drinking anything while driving ist verboten...

You need to fashion some sun visors and a first aid kit cover out of that zebrawood

I had one of those when I had a Volvo. Now I am wondering what I did with it.

Right now, I'm using a roll of duct tape as my cup holder. Works pretty good.

+1 on the roll of duct tape in my W123. Also have one on the floor of my Beetle.

I completely mis-read that the first time. It left me thinking - wow did they have cup holders one hundred and sixteen years ago...

@MNBenz

Nice cup holder by the way - I like how it keeps the rest of the car original.

And the screws hold in the center console material?

I would figure that any pressure on the unit would just rip the screws right out of the console....
