Just Bought A 1999 E300
Hi,
We just bought a 1999 E300.The car is blue over beige MB-Tex.I have a few questions.The glow plug light turns off allowing me to start the car normally,then after a few seconds the glow plug light comes back on.The car runs fine.What could this be?

Hi,

Just take a minute with a meter to verify it is just the light coming back on and not the glow plugs as well.

Check the resistance on all the plugs ,since i have 1 bad one the light comes on for a short time after the engine is running. It is explained in my owners manual that is an indication of a fault in the system,was my first tip off that i had a bad plug. My $.02 Don

Indicates a fault with one or more glow plugs, or associated circuitry.

Drive to Bryan, OH and I will teach how to do everything that requires the removal of the intake manifold on a 606. Fuel o-rings. fuel lines, glow plugs, muffler bearings
 (changing tires is about the only thing that does not require removal of the intake) I can remove a W210 turbo intake in less than twenty minutes....

On my 97 e300 it indicated a weak glow plug(s). They had been in for over 60k when I bought the car, had the manifold off for intake cleaning so I replaced them all and the issue went away.
