Does the 190D get no love?

I very rarely see people on this board who have a 190D or much less are asking questions about them. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough, but it seems that the 190D isn't as desired as the W123, W126, or even its similar era W124 brethren.

I realize the the 190D is relatively rare, but is it any less rare than a W124 or W126 (603 powered) diesel?

Would a 190D stick shift be like a more modern 240D 4-speed, only quieter and more updated? I can imagine the ultra rare 190D 2.5 Turbo would be a rocket.

Is there something I should know?

Check out the fuel prices in the shot above
