HA! his engine cleaning went as far as wiping off enough sludge buildup to find the engine stamp.

Not in the Portland area. Most everyone who owns them think they're worth their weight in gold. I've sold some parts for diesels here on CL for some good profit.
I'm just going to piece my engine back little by little.
