Too much time on my hands...just bought another.

Well, I've had my eye on a 1975 300d for the past year. The owner tried to sell it for $1200 last summer, but to no avail. Now up here, we should be called the "Great RARE North" instead of the Great White North, and Mercedes are not very easy to find. The car wasn't starting, although the owner claimed he could "tow-start" it.

Anyway, my wife comes upstairs this morning, rolls her eyes, and says "I don't know WHY I'm telling YOU this, but someone has a Mercedes at a garage sale today." Not getting tooooo excited, we go online and look at the ad, and I realize it is here in town, not somewhere else, so I get a little more excited. Find out it's the one I have had my eye on. Hmmm, excitement builds.

I go and look at it, and the guy is asking for offers, as he just wants it towed away. I say "what's a reasonable offer?"

$200 later, and I now have a second Benz that I have to get towed 4 blocks to my house sometime today.

Hope it starts more easily than my $400 one did. Good luck!

Nothing more expensive than a cheap MBZ.

You plan on driving it or keeping just for parts?

Cheers,

Bill

Depends if I can get it going or not. Body has a couple of rust spots, seats are good for support....not sure what I could take for my 1980 300sd if I kept it.
