does anyone know were the ignition buzzer is located. the one that buzzes when u leave the lights on or first start the car. i never new it had one until i went to a car show and everyone elses buzzed. please help me. i wanta fix this

why fix it? i hate the sound. i was happy when my 300D came with it broken. dont fix it.

The buzzer is a little box under the drivers side dash. As I recall, it's bolted to the bracket that holds the parking brake peddle. It looks like this:

Sometimes you can take them apart and fix them.

Could be worse. Mine only works 1/2 the time.

I'm not a certified mechanic, but I did stay at a HolidayInn Express last night.

thats going to be a major PITA to change.. it took me 45 mins to remove the cruise control computer.. now image that thing

i would second that... but i have left my lights on a bunch of times before, luckly the battery is so big, it started every time... but i dont wanta take any chances

Why so long? The buzzer is held on with 1 bolt. 20 minutes R+R.

It's much easier to take out than the cruise amp, you can reach the mounting bolt/screw with no problem.

My buzzer makes a real weenie-type sound. Are they all like that or do they sound tougher when working right?

turn the key to start and put your head under the dash and listen for it

I too would be interested in retrofitting a different type of buzzer, something less offensive. Does anybody know if it could be done- maybe a newer MB buzzer? I have also always like the mid 90's VW "european ambulance" door/ignition buzzer
