Manual shift Automatic

I am not a fan of automatic trannys but wanted a turbo diesel and did not have any choice here in the U.S. Has anyone put a manual transmission on the turbo diesel?

Yep....several people here have mated the 300D-T engine with a manual tranny.

We did it as follows:

1. dropped a 300D-T engine in a 240 chassis w/ manual tranny
2. put a flywheel in from a 300 euro that we had
3. put the shortened driveshaft in from the same euro chassis
4. changed out the differential to achieve a better ratio

So far we've put about 15k on it and really like it.

manual tranny parts

I am glad to hear that a manual tranny can be mated to the turbo diesel. Any one know where I can get the parts?

Members were looking in France and Germany for the flywheel, the other parts are somewhat available.
I don't know if Ben Ridge's posts were deleted in the last server crash, he modded a couple of turbo diesels to sticks and I believe one was a 5-speed. Use the Search feature!
